Corporate Tax

Corporation tax is, on the face of it, a simple tax to calculate, but the planning and execution are crucial skills.

Your company should regular discuss its plans for a reduced tax bill. There are many options available, some suitable and others not and so no company should pass its year end before such options have been examined. We try and make sure that all our clients are helped in this way. If your present accountant is letting your year end pass without discussion, then we can help. It could save you a lot of money.
Corporation Tax is not the only concern of Company Directors, another is the compliance with Income Tax and DSS regulations relating to payments made by the company for business travel, reimbursement of expenses, certain payments to Directors as benefits and that all remuneration is taxed under PAYE. Companies can now expect a visit from the Inland Revenue at least once every five years to make sure that everything is in order. This can result in large payments of tax and national insurance that, given time, could be addressed. If the Revenue discover errors, they will be back again. And again. If the Revenue finds all in order, they are more likely to concentrate elsewhere. We want you to be on the Inland Revenue's "good guy" list.

With respect to tax computations and returns, Smith & Eades can help to reduce your business' corporation tax liability by ensuring that all relevant tax reliefs for expenses and capital expenditure are claimed. They also ensure that your business pays the correct amount of tax by excluding any spending which is disallowed by the tax regulations. We can also use this time to look at your business in more depth, examine costs, likely future tax bills and ways to reduce this. Smith & Eades uses this time to help your business, looking forward rather than just back. So we use the time effectively to help you and your business.
